I truly believe that whatever lie you tell will come back to bite you in the end. On their online dating profiles, most women (and men) lie about their age, whether or not they are married, what they do for a living, how tall they are, how much they weigh, and a few other things. That is an absolutely terrible mistake. If you do happen to find a man who is really interested, the chances are he will figure out that you did lie to him and this will kill any prospect of the relationship going further. So just tell the truth. Because for the same reasons you are and you exist, there is someone somewhere who will be happy with you and even end up loving you and loving you. Be careful not to get too overzealous. Not only will it make you appear desperate, but it is a great way to turn a man off.
